IdEa (brainstorming in several steps)
The process of developing a product begins with a brain having a good idea.
In the early phase of developing a technical product, two question arise: what direction should the product be developed in and what characteristics does the product need to satisfy customer demand? These questions take us well beyond what is technically feasible. What is required is a screening procedure sensitive enough to deliver across the broadest possible spectrum of needs, while not omitting anything essential.
Our tried and tested MTO IdEa procedure can do just that. IdEa is a procedure consisting of up to six successive investigation phases, each building on its predecessor. The first five phases are performed as single investigations with potential users. The concluding sixth phase comprises a joint workshop with potential users and system developers.
The 6 phases of IdEa:
- Telephone surveys
- In-depth interviews
- Utilization protocols
- Video documentation and analysis
- Video confrontation
- User/developer workshop

Research in the area of interface optimization delivers a clear competitive advantage.
